Stainless steel fire doors factory: an important barrier for building safety

Industry News 2025-04-14

In modern building design, fire safety is a crucial consideration.Stainless steel fire doors,as a safety facility that combines fire prevention,anti-theft and durability, play an irreplaceable role in various building scenes. It uses stainless steel or cold-rolled thin steel plates as the base material, combined with fireproof filling materials and professional hardware accessories,to form a safety protection system that combines structural strength and functionality.

1.Classification and grade of stainless steel fire doors
Stainless steel fire doors can be divided into three grades:A,B and C according to fire resistance.Class A fire doors have a fire resistance and thermal insulation of≥1.5 hours, and use high-efficiency thermal insulation materials such as perlite and vermiculite fireproof boards. The thickness is usually 50mm,which is suitable for bank vaults, museums and other places with high security requirements;Class B fire doors have a fire resistance time of≥1.0 hours, and are often used in public buildings with high safety requirements such as hospitals and schools;Class C fire doors have a fire resistance time of≥0.5 hours, which are mostly found in ordinary residential and commercial buildings.According to the material difference,201 stainless steel fire doors are known for their economy and are suitable for family residences;304 stainless steel fire doors are more suitable for humid environments or commercial buildings that require higher fire resistance due to their high corrosion resistance.
II.Structure and performance of stainless steel fire doors
The door frame uses 1.2-1.5mm thick steel plates, the door panel thickness is 0.8-1.2mm,the reinforcement thickness is≥1.2mm,and the thickness of key parts such as screw holes must be≥3.0mm.The door leaf is filled with non-toxic insulation materials such as perlite and foamed door core boards, and the melting temperature of hardware accessories such as door locks and hinges is not less than 950℃.This structural design gives it three core advantages:
Super fire resistance:Class A fire doors can withstand high temperatures above 1000℃within 1.5 hours, effectively preventing the spread of fire.
Strong and durable:Cold-rolled thin steel plates have excellent impact resistance and deformation resistance far exceeds that of wooden fire doors, with a service life of more than 20 years.
Anti-theft protection:Precision locks and reinforced structures form double protection, which can resist violent destruction such as crowbars and hydraulic pliers.

III.Application scenarios of stainless steel fire doors
In commercial buildings, fire doors are required in shopping mall store partitions and office building stairwells to control the scope of fire and ensure the safety of evacuation passages. In the industrial field, factory workshops use fire doors to isolate different production areas to prevent fires from causing chain explosions. In residential buildings, fire doors are installed in stairwells and pipe shafts of high-rise residential buildings to prevent fires from spreading to residents’homes through vertical passages. In addition, special places such as hospital operating rooms and school laboratories all need to use fire doors to achieve functional zoning and safety isolation.
IV.Purchase and maintenance of stainless steel fire doors
Four core elements need to be paid attention to when purchasing:
Certification qualifications:Must hold a certificate of conformity issued by a statutory testing agency and a production permit for safety technology prevention products issued by a provincial public security department(bureau).
Process details:Check whether the welding is dense, whether the gap between the door leaf and the door frame is uniform, and whether the hardware accessories are flexible and reliable.
Material identification:The door body should be marked with the”FAM”logo, company name and implementation standards.
Grade matching:Select the corresponding grade according to the building fire protection design specifications to avoid over-configuration or insufficient safety.
Daily maintenance needs to be done:
It is forbidden to open the normally closed fire door manually to ensure that the door closer and sequencer function normally.
Regularly check the integrity of the fireproof coating to avoid using decorative veneers to damage the fireproof performance.
Normal open fire doors need to test the automatic closing system every month and clear obstacles around the door body.

V.Development trend of stainless steel fire doors
With the improvement of building safety standards, fire door technology is developing in the direction of intelligence and modularization. In the future, products may integrate functions such as temperature sensing, automatic closing, and remote monitoring, and realize linkage with building fire protection systems. At the same time, the application of environmentally friendly fireproof materials will further reduce the impact of products on the environment and meet the development needs of green buildings.
As the core component of the building safety system, the performance of stainless steel fire doors is directly related to the safety of life and property.Through scientific selection, standardized installation and regular maintenance,it can ensure that it plays a key role in emergency situations such as fire and provide reliable safety protection for modern buildings.
